Lana Poklad earned a Masters Degree in Choral
Conducting and Music Education from Odessa State
Conservatory of Music, Odessa, Ukraine, in 1997. She
immigrated to the United States in 2000 and actively
worked in the San Francisco Bay Area music scene. From
2008 through 2011 she lived and worked in Germany. Since
returning to the United States, she has been active in
the San Francisco Bay Area, performing vocal recitals,
conducting large-scale choral works, and directing
Broadway and Baroque opera productions. She currently
teaches at Monterey
Peninsula College and serves as Director of
Liturgical Music and Choir at St.
Angela Merici Catholic Church in Pacific Grove.
Her long list of achievements includes
conducting large scale choral/orchestral works,
directing musical theater and opera productions, working
as director of music in churches and being a Middle
School band director. She is the founder of the
Campanelli Childrens' Choir of Vallejo and the Center of
Slavic Culture of Berkeley, CA.
